5.1 POV
Hi, Welcome to the next lesson. This lesson is going to be 
a POV lesson. In the POV lesson, as usual you are going to 
listen to the same story in different tenses. While listening 
to the story, I want you to move your body, smile, be happy 
and jump up and down. Pay attention and notice the patterns 
of the tenses. So, we will start with the past tense. Are you 
ready? Here we go!
There was a very handsome spider. He lived in Brazil. He was 
from Brazil. He had a problem. His problem was he couldn’t dance. 
He wanted to learn how to dance. Because he wanted to be the 
most popular dancer in the entire world. He decided to be friends 
with the most beautiful dancers. Then, he went to London city.
He went to various dance schools. He saw a lot of girls 
dancing. Because he also wanted to be the best dancer. He had an 
aspiration to be the most famous in the entire world. The coach 
said: “You have to dance by imitating”. He was very skeptical. 
He did not have any ideas to like it or not. He imitated all the 
other dancers. He repeated the same actions again and again 
and again. She copied all other dancers. After some time he 
couldn’t learn anything. However, people mocked him. People 
laughed at him because he couldn’t dance. He wanted to learn

the rules of dancing. He wanted to learn everything step by step. 
Nevertheless, the coach said: “Just copy the dance”. He wanted 
to be perfect. But he couldn’t dance very well. He became sad. 
Because he wanted to become perfect. But he did not expect to 
make mistakes. He wanted to dance beautifully instantaneously. 
Despite the failure he did not quit. Actually he wanted to become 
dance king. Then he hesitated for some time. He hesitated what to 
do. He decided to fly to Canada. He encountered a lot of dancers 
in Canada. They were great dancers. They did not have a coach. 
They learnt by only practice. He asked for their advice. They said: 
“Just dance. Don’t focus on being perfect. You will unconsciously 
learn how to dance. He supported their opinion. Then, he danced 
but he couldn’t dance beautifully.
No, he got very upset and he got frustrated. He said: “I am 
not  going  to  learn  this  way”.  All  the  Canadian  people  said: 
 
“it is a great and wonderful method. As a matter of fact, it was 
very effortless and easy method. He continued his goal. He did 
not leave Canada. He made a firm commitment to achieve his goal 
 
by doing whatever it takes to win. He was ready to make mistakes 
at the beginning. After some time, he started to get better and 
better at dancing. He practiced all day long. He practiced all night 
long. He practiced 24/7. After one year, he became №1 dancer in 
the whole universe. He practiced one year. Yes, he was fascinated 
by his results. Yes, he got very popular. He was a very beautiful 
dancer. Every newspaper, every magazine talked about him.  
He was very happy. Because he attained his goal. He did whatever 
it took to succeed.
