Students will be able to know all the new vocabulary they have learnt.
Lesson Rationale (700-1000 words): This lesson plan has been planned in a manner that gives pleasure for students including their learning needs. Expecting to the fact that the group will have different type abilities and purposes for learning English. The topic that has been chosen for this lesson is “ using the Internet in the English classroom” It introduces students’ outlook about the Internet.. I found it necessary to use a board and handouts related to the topic of the lesson for systematic approach as perception of new information. This allows leaners to be more aware of aspects of the new language. It makes this lesson more productively.
Structure
The warmer stage of the lesson allows the students to have a chance to be more communicative and share their views on topic the internet.Students try to speak about advantages about the internet or and tell when and why they use them in their real life. It supplies to achieve the goal of the lesson.
The presentation activity and presentation meaning introduces the learners the target vocabulary .It gives an opportunity to regard to definitions of the new vocabulary. In this stage I introduce her students with the target vocabulary by writing on the board and tell their pronunciation. This will improve the learners’ pronunciation skills.
After that I show the pictures of the new words and ask the students guess the meaning of them, because visual aids help the students to memorise target vocabulary .According to the nature of the target vocabulary – being all the same type of nouns with difficult spelling. That’s why I will ask some questions to be sure that the students have understood the meaning of the nouns.
In Presentation form stage I will explain how to use certain vocabularies.. Students will learn to use these grammatical expressions in letters and postcards, e-mails as they will use them in future during their work process and daily life. This will help a continuously effect in their memory, neglecting it within their lexicon.
I divide the class into small groups, and distribute the hand-outs to each group. For example: Fill in the missing words
In Production: Freer practice stage I will ask students to play a role play about the internet by giving some situations.. Because this contains more practice than other stages. I will give a worksheet on matching task of the new words and with their definitions. Students will use language more confidently and they can use nouns of the target vocabulary in their speech. Students will match new words with their definitions and know the definite answers. After that I will observe and check the class.
Cooler, which is given above, gives students an opportunity of how they have boosted the whole lesson. If they have been able to learn some new words for their lexicon they will leave the lesson in positive mood as I will motivate them by recording the process. A habitual problem is that students can confuse the meaning of the words in context .For example: The word “letter” means a letter in the ABC and it also has a meaning of massage. Besides, students make mistakes in putting stress in two or more syllable words. To overcome these kinds of difficulties I will write the words on the blackboard and explain the real meanings of them. And for not confusing stress I make the students to repeat the words after me.
Other considerations.
I would have liked to add some more activities and games belonging to the topic, because they will help to strengthen their vocabulary.
