Appears  that  the  effective  childminders  in  this  study  felt

 

confident  about  their  role  in  preparing  their  charges  for  school

 

and  see  it  as  an  important  part  of  their  job.  Three  separate

 

strands  appear  in  this  preparation;  familiarity,  coping  skills

 

and  early  learning  experiences  presented  through  a  number  of

 

pedagogical  strategies  that  occur  at  varying  levels  of  awareness
