Glass , ‘There are two meanings packed into one word.’ For example:

Smart Alec: Portmanteau is itself made up of two words, the French porter (to
carry) and manteau (cloak or mantle).
What’s the word I’m after?
abuse/misuse/disabuse
To abuse something means to treat it so badly that you damage it.
To misuse something means to use it wrongly.
To  disabuse  someone  of  something  means  to  show  them  that  their  thinking  is
wrong.
