Tashkent is a beautiful city. I was born in Tashkent. Tashkent is called “stone city”. It is the capital of Uzbekistan. Tahskcnt is divided into two parts: an old part and a new part. In old part there are many historical buildings. There are many madrasahs, mausoleums, machetes and other ancicnt buildings. There are also many beautiful high buildings and wide streets in the old part of the city. In new part There are Universities, many institutes, technical and secondary schools, colleges, Mustakillik square, Alisher Navoi garden, Tashkent Tower, gardens and parks, Bunyodkor , Pakhtakor stadium in Tashkent. A lot of important meetings are held in Tashkent. Tashkent now bccamc an industrial city. There are many mills and factories in it. The city is the cultural centre in Central Asia. We like our capital very much. But on the 26 of April 1966 earthquake occurred in Tashkent and a large number houses in the centre of the city were destroyed. Several hospitals, schools and other public buildings were also destroyed. On the very first days of the earthquake the whole country gave Tashkent a helping hand as our country is like one family. Many builders and engineers from the other countries came to Tashkent and began helping to build new houses. Now there are a lot of new blocks, new houses and public buildings, in Tashkent which were built by the builders from the republic. Day by day and year by year our Tashkent becomes more beautiful and bigger. Tashkent is the political, educational, economical ccntcr in the Asia.
