Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Hayes Dickey, 74, were held at 1:30 o’clock Monday afternoon in Columbia, conducted by the Rev. Burns P. Drake and the Rev. R. F. Allen. Burial was in Moriah Cemetery in Giles County. She died Sunday morning at the home of her son, John M. Dickey, in Columbia. A native of Giles County, she was the daughter of the late Ben Hayes and Martha Horne Hayes and was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was the widow of J. W. Dickey. Mrs. Dickey is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mary Hobbs, Giles County and Mrs. Mattie Doggett, Maury County; three sons, John M. Dickey, Solon Dickey and James Dickey, all of Maury County; twenty-two grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Pernie Cooper, Giles County; and four brothers, Hugh Hayes, Columbia, Anderson Hayes and Houston Hayes, Giles County, and John Hayes, Nashville.

Burial took place in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Mr. Dickey, a retired farmer, died Saturday, March 8, in Giles County Hospital. A native of Giles County, he was born February 5, 1902, the son of the late Willie and Alice Hayes Dickey. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Hallie Mae Cooper Dickey; two brothers, Joe Dickey and John M. Dickey, both of Columbia; and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Hobbs and Mrs. Mattie Doggett, both of Pulaski. Funeral services for Dan Milton Douglass, 69, were held at the Bennett, May and Company Funeral Home at one o’clock Monday afternoon with the Rev. J. W. Bryson, pastor of the Pulaski Presbyterian Church, conducting the rites, and interment in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Mr. Douglass, a farmer of the Chicken Creek community, died suddenly at his home at two o’clock Sunday afternoon, after along period of failing health. Mr. Douglass is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lillie Harwell Douglass; and one brother, Earl Douglass of Nashville.

He was a brother of the late “Kid” Douglass.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Lou Reed Parker, widow of Quarles T. Parker, were held at 11 o’clock Saturday morning at Mt. Moriah Cumberland Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Paul McReynolds, pastor of the church, and the Rev. Jack Green of Birmingham, Ala., grandson of Mrs. Parker, officiated and burial took place in the church cemetery. Mrs. Parker died Thursday at Giles County Hospital after a two weeks illness. A native of Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Carson Reed and Mary Jane Johnson Reed, coming with the family to Giles County as an infant. She was a member of Mt. Moriah Church. Her first husband, Thomas Kidd Douglas, died March 14, 1914. Mrs. Parker is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Solon Rich, Pulaski, and Mrs. Walter Green, Birmingham, Ala.; and ten grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Funeral services for William M. Duncan, 72, who died early Saturday morning at his home on South First Street, were held at 3 o’clock Sunday afternoon at Mt. Moriah Church, conducted by the Rev. J. E. Trotter, of Prospect. Burial took place in the Moriah Cemetery. Mr.Duncan, formerly a farmer in the county, but more recently the operator of a small grocery on South First Street, was found dead in bed about six o’clock Saturday morning, where he had died while he slept, apparently from a heart attack. Mrs. R. B. Dunivant died Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. T. O. Lee at Sandy Hook, in Maury County, and the body was brought here Tuesday and interred at Mt. Moriah. Mrs. Dunivant was formerly a resident of this county and is the mother of J. F. Dunivant of Wales. She also has another son in Texas, and fifteen grandchildren, one of whom is Will V. Dunivant, of Pulaski. Mrs. Dunivant was 82 years of age. Her husband died several years ago.

Funeral services for Robert A. “Jim” Durham, 57, a Giles Countynative, was held on Saturday, September 20 at 2:00 p. m. at Bennett-May Chapel. Burial was in Mt. Moriah Cemetery with the Rev. Mr. Durham was killed Thursday morning in Nashville when a load of glass toppled on him at the Ford Motor Company Glass Plant, where he had been employed in the materials department for 22 years. Mr. Durham was married to the late Dorothy Pillow Durham. H e was the son of the late Alvie Durham and Ada Draper Durham of Minor Hill. He was a member of the Hillwood Presbyterian Church in Nashville and a member of the West Nashville Moose Lodge 2221. Mr. Gladys Dalton “Buddy” Edde, age 70 of Old Hickory, Tennessee, died Friday, October 7, 2011 in Skyline Medical Center. Mr. Edde was a native of Marshall County, Tennessee son of the late James Dalton “J.D.” and Ester Walls Edde. He was retired from Enco where he was a heavy equipment mechanic. He was a member of the Hermitage Hills Baptist Church and a mason in the Old Hickory Masonic Lodge # 598. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Edde. He is survived by his wife, Linda Marie Joplin Edde of Old Hickory, daughter, Tammy Lynn Stone of Goodlettsville, son, John Dalton Edde of Louisville, Kentucky, two sisters, Annie Ruth Lawrence of Cornersville and Joyce Crigger of Lewisburg, brother, JimmyEdde of Smyrna, five grandchildren, and step mother, Sarah Edde of Lewisburg. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, October 10, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of London Funeral Home with burial to follow in Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Giles County. The family will be at London Funeral Home Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A Masonic service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday. Monday the family will visit from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.

"Aunt" Nancy Edwards died at Bodenham Firday evening, Nov. 3, and was buried Saturday, services being conducted by Rev. T. E. Hudson, at Moriah in the presence of a large congregation of relatives and friends. Her first marriage was to Mr. Braly and she is survived by three sons, James, Cull, and Rev. J. D. Braly of Petersburg. Mrs. Edwards has been a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church most all of her life. Her father was an early settler in the Bodenham section. The deceased was an aunt of Mrs. J. C. Hannah, of Campbellsville.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Jewel Curtis of Winter Haven, Fla., Mrs. Hazel Abernathy, Mrs. Katherine Arthur, both of Pulaski, Mrs. Judy Goetz of Ohio; two sons, Bobby and Steve Englett, both of Ohio; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Grace Holley of Pulaski; one brother, Frank Englett of Lawrenceburg.

Linda Smith Englett passed away March 12, 2013 at Crockett Hospital in Lawrenceburg, TN. She was born on March 3, 1951 in Lawrenceburg and was 62 years old. Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 from 4:00 until 8:00pm at Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home in Pulaski, TN. Funeral service will be on Thursday, March 14th at 2:00pm in the chapel ofBennett-May-Giles CountyFuneral Home. Burial will follow in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Lillian Giles Smith, Jr. She is survived by her husband, David Englett of Lawrenceburg; sons, Michael Englett of Lawrenceburg, David Lee Englett of Lawrenceburg. BarryDon Englett of Lawrenceburg; brothers, JimmySmith, Dickey Smith and Ricky Smith of Lawrenceburg; 3 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. Bennett-May-Giles CountyFuneral Home is in charge of arrangements for Linda Smith Englett.

William Mack Englett, Sr., 66, of Route 2, Pulaski died June 8, 1978 in Giles County Hospital. Funeral services were held June 10 at Bennett-May Chapel, with G. C. Fox conducting the services. Burial was in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Mr. Englett was born Sept. 29, 1912 in Alabama the son of the late Mack Englett and Lula Rhea Englett. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs.

Margaret Peden, Hendersonville; one son, William M. Englett, Jr., Brussell, Belgium; a sister, Mrs. William Holley, Pulaski and two brothers, Frank Enlgett, Lawrenceburg and Leon Englett, Florida; three grandsons and one granddaughter.
