The bar graph gives data about three telephone types used for calls, with the
units being measured in billions of minutes, in the UK between 1995 and
2002.
Overall, local calls made via fixed line was the most popular in the UK, and
the numbers fluctuated for this category over the period, whereas the other
two call types witnessed increases.
Turning to details, the figure for total minutes on local calls went up from just
above 70 billion minutes to peak at 90 billion units, after which it saw a
gradual decline to more or less the same rate as at the beginning of the
period in 2002.
Regarding the other two categories, in 1995, UK populations made national
and international calls through fixed line for a total almost 40 billion minutes,
but about a mere of 2 billion minutes went for mobiles. This gap between
these two had widened by the end of the period, albeit rising noticeably, and
the year 2002 reported 60 billion and around 45 billion minutes respectively.

The table provides data on subway lines in six cities in terms of date opening,
kilometers of route and the number of passengers annually.

Overall, the three older underground railways covered longer distances
compared to relatively recently opened ones, and this superiority could also be
reflected in the figure for passengers, each carrying significantly more users.
Turning to details, the oldest subway line on the list was opened in London in
1863, which covered 394 km on its route, and a total of 775 million passengers
used it annually. Second in the order was Paris underground railway. Being
opened in 1900, this railway system served 1191 million train-users per year,
despite relatively small kilometers of route, at almost 200. However, the most
popular subway with passengers was in Tokyo, carrying a whopping 1927
million of passengers, but it only provided 155 kilometers of route.
According to the chronological order of the date opened, Washington DC came
next in 1976. The distance coverage of this underground railway was 126
kilometers, and 144 million passengers in a year used it. In 1981, Kyoto railway
was launched, and it was run on only 11 kilometers and provided 45 million
passengers with seats. Finally, in 2001, the most recent subway on the list was
introduced in Los Angeles, with its 28 kilometers of route and 50 million annual
users.
