Activity 1: Hyperbole
Objective:
- to use exaggeration to describe people in practice
- to compare hyperboles in English and Uzbek languages. (develop sociolinguistic competence)
Time: 10 minutes
Materials: handout 1, markers
Procedure of the lesson: Write down 5 family members or friends. Next to their names write one thing you admire about them, or something they are good at. Then create a humorous hyperbole about the description you gave them!

Objective: to practice using hyperbole describing characters and situations
Time: 10 minutes
Materials: handout 2, markers
Procedure of the activity:Identify different characteristics from the following images and write a descriptive hyperbole for each!
