Procedure of the activity: Hector Manchester cannot tell a story without exaggerating. Use your imagination to complete the following sentences as Mr. Manchester would.
Those kids kept playing their rock 'n' roll music so loud, it was causing the roof to jump off the house!


Activity 4: This story is insane
Objective: to increase students’ creativity making the situations hyperbolic Time: 10 minutes
Materials: handout 2, markers
Procedure of the activity: Fold your worksheet on the line. Fill in the spaces below with the word of your choice (no peeking!). Then place those words in the spaces where they belong within the story. Read your story aloud to your friends!
Students in groups should fill the gaps with asked phrases and make an insane story.
Teacher and students assess the activity (teacher comments on the results of assessment by giving grounds to them). Teacher consolidate the lesson and analyses what students learned during the lesson
Homework:
1.Learners are asked in their groups to gather information about the stylistic devices, particularly hyperboles and their use in English and find their counterparts in Uzbek.
2. Each learner is asked to write 12 life situations using one hyperbole in a situation.
3. Learners are asked to be ready for a Competition “Who knows more English hyperboles than their counterparts in Uzbek/Russian?”
Teacher’s evaluation: Teacher evaluates the learners’ academic performance according to the assessment criteria.
