VOCABULARY

  • - is a list of words which is means for distributing communication with other people.

Types of vocabulary

Oral vocabulary

-includes those that we recognize and use in listening and speaking

Print vocabulary

- Includes those words that we recognize and use in reading and writing

Receptive vocabulary

- Includes words that we recognize when we hear or see them.

Types of vocabulary

Productive vocabulary

- includes words that we use when we speak or write

Passive vocabulary

- includes words that we know but do not use in our speaking and writing

Active vocabulary

- includes words that we know and frequently use them in speaking and writing.

Using visual images

Using gestures and action

Guessing and pridicting

Words in context

Showing lexicial relations

2. Helping pupils remember new words

Using memorizing activities and games

Conclusion

- word learning is definitely a complicated pross that deserves attention in the classroom



The students need to be given a variety of opportunities to connect words, analyze structure, understand multiple meanings, and discover words in variety of context.

- The goal for teachers should be to build independent learning strategies that will reciprocate into reading comprehension
