Activity 4 Planning a Project “Elderly People”
Objective: to introduce the project requirements
Time: 20 minutes
Materials:
Procedure:

• 
  Introduce a new project on creating a film (or poster) about the elderly people
  
• 
  Divide students into smaller groups/or students decide themselves how to form their groups.
  
• 
  Invite students to brainstorm in their groups what the films will be about (e.g. "My grandparents and me”, "Old People’s House”, "How elderly people are treated in different cultures”, etc.). Ask students to think of ways of obtaining materials/equipment for the film (E.g. students will do Internet search, observe their own grandparents, interview old people, translate their answers into English, visit old people’s house, offer them help if needed, find a camera, etc.). Ask students to develop an action plan and distribute the responsibilities among the group members.
  
• 
  Volunteer students to present their ideas on conducting the project and get the feedback from the teacher and their peers.
  
• 
  Explain the requirements and the criteria for assessment (See assessment specifications).
  

Round-up (3-5minutes)

• 
  Summarize the key points of the lesson and remind of the project deadline.
