speaking Rum who were first to leave, even though the places and events are 
fictional. The emphasis is on the peaceful coexistence of the two peoples. The scope

There is no very clear dividing line in theme between the second and third phases. 
What really distinguishes the third phase which begins in the 1970s (in Greece after 
the fall of the military dictatorship) is the abundance of publication and the effect of 
time as the great healer. The authors of this phase were no longer direct witnesses or 
victims and, while much of what was published is fairly light stuff in actual or 
fictional memory mode like the novel
