Summary of lab testing:
System may “blue screen” very quickly, or later on when attempting to
shutdown, reboot, or run applications, or system may just become completely
unsuable. Ironically Service Pack 3 of NT appears to be invulnerable to this
attack, but once SP 6a was installed, the system quickly succumbed.
The attack takes more time than the previous two exploits. It appears that once
the ram consumption reaches 50%, the CPU will suddenly jump to 100%
utilization, and then the system becomes unusable. Any attempts to run
applications, dos commands, or even shutdown the system, are met with error
messages and failure.
