Abstract: 
The aim of this article is to look into errors made by second language learners in 
order to comprehend the usages of various strategies and techniques in the process 
of second language learning. In applied linguistics , error analysis is considered to be 
one of the most important area . Moreover, it is a systematic method to analyze 
learners' errors. Errors had been considered bad and negative but the attitude towards 
it started to change into positive one . They play vital role in language development 
providing insight into complicated processes, in addition to this, error analysis helps 
to describe , identify and explain learners’ errors in a systematic way .Errors means to 
understand better the process of second and foreign language acquisition. This study 
tries to investigate the importance of error analysis and how to apply it in a proper way 
while teaching and learning second language. In this article ,major types of errors in 
English as a second language for Uzbek students are also mentioned.
