RESULTS AND DISCUSSION: 
The main attention of the current work was anti-cholesterol investigation of 
P. daemia
using 
male albino rats. In this study used a different dose from lead acetate and injected through 
intraperitoneal for 45 days causing an elevation of the Phospholipids, Total cholesterol and 
Triglycerides.
The acute toxicity study revealed the non-toxic nature of the chloroform (100 mg/kg, 200 
mg/kg, 400 mg/kg), ethanol (100 mg/kg, 200 mg/kg, 400 mg/kg) and aqueous extracts (100 mg/kg, 
200 mg/kg, 400 mg/kg). No lethal toxic reactions were observed until the end of the experiment. 
The level of Phospholipids in plasma was significantly lower in lead acetate intoxicated 
animals. It was 12.01 IU/I. In normal animal it was 30.01 IU/I. The Phospholipids in plasma level 
was rose in anticholesteral activities animals separately treated with each of the three extracts at the 
rate of 400 mg/kg. The figure was 21.07 IU/I in animals treated with chloroform leaf extract, 25.06 
IU/I in animals treated with ethanol extract, 20.06 IU/I in animals treated with aqueous extract (Table 
1).
Similarly, the level of total cholesterol in the plasma was significantly lower in Anti-
Cholesterol animals. In normal animals it was 24.01 IU/I. The levels were decreased in lead acetate 
treated animals 11.08 IU/I. The levels were 17.09 IU/I in the case of animals treated with chloroform 
leaf extract. In the ethanol extract treated groups it was 22.05 IU/I; in the aqueous extract treated 
groups it was 14.07 IU/I (Table 1). 
The concentration of Triglycerides in normal animals it was 34.05 IU/I on the 45
th
day (Table 
1). The levels of triglycerides increased in leaf extracts treated animals. It was 28.09 IU/I in the 
chloroform leaf extract treated animals. In the ethanol extract treated group it was 33.08 IU/I; in the 
aqueous extract treated group it was 24.07 IU/I, where as in lead acetate treated group, it was 14.02 
IU/I (Table 1).
