MAY MEETING
The meeting will be held in the Nature Center building at Mount Aetna Camp and Retreat Center on May 21, 2009.
Bring your fly rod because we will have the privilege of Bob Stouffer and his team of expert flycasters assisting all who are interested in improving their casting stroke. (Roll Casting in particular). Come early at 6:30 or 7:00 if you would like. We will have a business meeting after it gets dark.
Special Notice for any one who would like to learn how to cast a fly rod. Bob Stouffer will lead a Beginner Fly Casting Workshop at the Renfrew Visitors Center in Waynesboro, PA on May 16, 2009. Call (717) 762-0373 to register.

FLYTYERS’ ROUNDTABLE REPORT
The next roundtable will be May 7, 2009 starting at 7:00 PM at the Keystone Sporting Goods on Pennsylvania Ave. at Maugans Ave. in Hagerstown.
The guest tier for the evening will be Don Fine tying Soft-Hackled Flies. It is requested that the Soft-Hackled flies that are tied at this session be donated to the CreekSide to be included in their next year’s Fly Plate. The Fly Plate is being assembled by Doug Alexander.
There will be no meetings of the Flytyers’ Roundtable during the months of June, July and August. The next roundtable will be September 3, 2009 starting at 7:00 PM at the Keystone Sporting Goods on Pennsylvania Ave. at Maugans Ave. in Hagerstown.
We will continue next year with our guest tier program. Please let us know of any special flies that you wish to learn to tie. We will try to accommodate.

May 2009 Calendar of Meetings and Events
Hagerstown Fairgrounds Park, Cannon Avenue Entrance, between Animal Barns and Grandstands. Bring your favorite all-purpose rod with 7 ½ foot 1X leader with yarn fly. Some Club members meet at the Hagerstown City Market located on Church Street (behind the Post Office on Franklin Street) at 7:45 (approx.) for breakfast prior to the Saturday meetings. Come and enjoy. NOTE: There are Special Events scheduled for May 2009 as well as Saturday meetings and are included in the calendar:
Saturday, 2 May – 9:00 AM at the Hagerstown Fairgrounds Park
Bring “gadgets”.
Special Event - Tuesday, 5 May – Tackle-Time at Creekside Anglers – 6:30 PM at their regular club meeting place. Casting and casting instruction. Location – Trinity Orchard House, approximately 4 miles east of Martinsburg, WV, just off of Route 45.
Saturday, 9 May – 9:00 AM at Hagerstown Fairgrounds Park. Bring Gadgets. Accuracy at varying distances (casting to hoops). Prep for PVFF Clinic.
Special Event – Tuesday, 12 May, CASTING CLINIC at PVFF meeting - Start time 6:30 – Be there 30 minutes prior to the Start Time to help set-up.
Please plan to attend if you can. Email Bob Stouffer if you plan to attend. You are needed to assist in instruction and to man stations for Casting Games. The PVFF usually has a big crowd for this and each of us is needed. Bring Gadgets as if preparing for Danish Casting Games.
Special Event – Saturday, 16 May, Renfrew Park, Waynesboro, PA. Adult Casting Clinic for Adults. 9:00 AM to Noon. Club members are requested to come and assist in instruction. There will be a syllabus and lesson-plan issued at Renfrew Park.
Thursday, May 21 – Casting at the Antietam Fly Anglers meeting.
Saturday, 23 May – No meeting.
Saturday, 30 May – 9:00 AM at the Hagerstown Fairgrounds Park. Hauling and Distance.

Directions to Creekside Anglers meeting place
The Trinity Center’s Orchard House.
Location is on Route 45 (Shepherdstown Road) out of Martinsburg toward Shepherdstown. Go past Files Crossroads and on the left you will see an old house with a sign in front that says “Pump House.”
Just past this sign is a gate with a yellow sign that reads “Trinity Center”; turn left and the Orchard House is about ¼ mile off the road in the middle of the field.
DIRECTIONS TO THE MT. AETNA CAMP AND RETREAT CENTER
From the junction of Interstate 70 and MD State Highway 66 go north on HY 66 about 2 miles, to the traffic circle, then east on Mt. Aetna Rd, up the hill, for approximately 1 mile. The entrance to the Center is located at 21905 Mt. Aetna Road and will be on the right. Parking is available behind the Ranger Station Building. Take the path on the right of the parking lot to the Nature Center.
* Please take note that the Nature Center is open to the public each Saturday from 2 PM to 5 PM.
