2.1 Research plan
The current thesis is focused on analyzing how vocabulary is being taught in the 6 grade at school and suggesting the most effective teaching methods of vocabulary by making experiments. The researcher first analyzes the book which is published for the 6 grade pupils “Fly High”, collects the all vocabulary as glossary topic by topic; draws the statistics of assimilation of new lexis and states effective methods which is not stated in “Fly High” (Realia and Total Physical Response) for teaching weak learned vocabulary.
The core goal of this research is to examine the list of given new words in the book “Fly High” and determine how pupils have been comprehending vocabulary so that researcher will be able to demonstrate more easier ways of teaching vocabulary. For this reason, he puts the following questions in front of him. The answers of these questions count as a half meaning of this thesis.
What is the syllabus for teaching vocabulary in primary classes particularly 6 grade pupils?
How pupils are learning the new vocabulary?
What methods are suggested in teaching vocabulary to young learners?
Which of them are considered more efficient and essential?
The objectives
The objectives of this study are:
To look for topic related books, scientific researches, thesis works done by students, magazines and newspaper articles, internet materials, video, audio and any other supportive data.

  • To analyze the whole found materials and make a list of methods for teaching vocabulary which are suitable for first grade learners.

  • To make a list of new words from “Fly High” the book which has published for the 6 grade pupils.

  • To design the materials, and teaching aids according to the teaching vocabulary methods which, researcher is going to use.

  • To put into practice the whole preparation and to conduct lessons to the 6 grade pupils for gaining the statistics, and for making assimilation percentages unit by unit by checking the pupils’ knowledge concerning to vocabulary.

  • Finally, taking into consideration the results, he uses new approaches, methods for teaching those weak learned vocabulary to young learners.

  • Afterwards he shows the results and assimilation percentages of an experiment which he made and studies by comparing the pretest results and the post test results.
