Pre-stage (20-25 minutes)

  1. Conducting prelimininaries of the lesson ( greeting, roll calling)

  2. Warm-up activity

  3. Brainstorming

The teacher shows some slides and asks some questions. Teacher gives some background information about Teaching language skills for communication, asks questions, introduces the aims and tasks of the lesson.

  1. What is Teaching language skills for communication?

  2. What kind of Teaching language skills do you know?

  3. What examples of Teaching language skills for communication can you give?

The teacher writes the word “Teaching language skills for communication” on the blackboard and asks students to give as many associations as they can to this word


The teacher explain the new theme “Teaching language skills for communication” using slide show on Power Point.

The four language skills are related to each other in two ways:



  • The direction of communication ( in or out)

  • The method of communication ( spoken or written)

Input is sometimes called “reception” and output is sometimes called “production”. Spoken is also known as “oral”

Goals


  • To support and assist each student to develop language skills in listening, speaking, vocabulary, reading and writing

  • To work in the classroom to help each student to be successful in the mainstream program

Then teacher explain the new theme “Teaching language skills for communication” using slide show on Power Point
When you are “learning English” you are learning all of these skills.

You will be strong in some and weak in others.Your classmate may have different strengths and weaknesses than you. That is why you shouldn’t try to compare yourself to others.
