Ex. 2 TALKING POINT
Express your opinion and thought about questions given below! Answers should be given in WRITTEN form. No less than 3 sentences for each question. You are welcome to provide longer answers.
1. Do you think there is life on Venus or other planets?
Answer:I think there is no life on Venus. Because the temperature in it is very low. I think there is life on Mars. The reason I say this is because scientists have found pieces of ice on Mars. So there is water there. Water freezes only when there is air.
2. How could research into other planets help us to understand the Earth better?
Answer:I can say that by studying the variety of outcomes that we see on other planetary bodies and understanding the variables that shape each planet, we can learn more about how things might have happened on Earth in the past.
3. Do you think it’s better for national governments or private companies to do space research? Why?
Answer:No, I don't think so. Because Space Exploration is a waste of resources. Instead of decreasing resources by space travel and such, we must deal with problems on Earth first. Why bother spending all this money on exploring space when we could be helping our own planet that us humans live on. In my opinion, we must spend our time and money on our planet.
4. Would you be interested in visiting another planet, if you could? Why? / Why not?
Answer:No and Yes.
No, because I love Earth.
Yes,because that would be one help of an experience. Stepping your foot on the soil of a hostile planet where every condition is against the existence of life ,it would be a very unique feeling.
Another major reason I want to visit a different planet is to look at Earth from there.I want to see the beautiful blue planet of ours from outer space.
