LETTER #1--COMMITTEE SURVEY RESPONDENT LETTER
Dear ACC Member,
We are writing to follow-up on your recent response to the ACC Law Department Management Committee’s member survey. Thank you for expressing interest in helping the committee become even better in serving the needs and interests of our members. There are many opportunities to get involved, drawing on your experience in a law department or with either public speaking or writing. There are also opportunities to coordinate between interested groups, like committees, volunteers, sponsors, etc., to ensure the timely delivery of a new member resource.
We encourage you to visit our Resource & Program Development webpage at ACC and become familiar with the tasks a "champion" (that would be you!) would perform. There is also specific information about the process for each of the resources. If you are curious as to what the Sponsor of a resource is responsible for, check out our Sponsor & Author Materials webpage.
If you have any questions, or would like to know how to get started with a specific project the committee is working on, please feel free to get in touch with any of us. We have ongoing projects, like identifying monthly speakers for our Legal Quick Hits, or one-off projects related to our committee strategy, membership or newsletter.  We welcome your participation and sincerely look forward to working with you and continuing the strong tradition of supporting our community of in-house counsel.
Regards,

LETTER #2--NEW COMMITTEE MEMBER LETTER
Fellow ACC Member,
On behalf of our executive committee, welcome to the Law Department Management Committee!  We look forward to seeing you in our forums, monthly teleconferences and other events in the near future, and are glad you’ve selected the LDMC as one of your gateways into greater networking and information from ACC.
We use our Committee page as the home base for new information, and you can directly add a calendar reminder for our next meeting by clicking HERE.  Our goal as a committee is to be your “gateway” to greater involvement, networks and value creation through ACC; please let me know how you would like to get more involved with the LDMC, and I can help connect you and/or point you in the right direction.  Additionally, if there is anything that I or the other members of the LDMC executive committee can do to help you get the most out of your membership, please let me know, and again, welcome.
Sincerely,

Matt Nolan

The Law Department Management Committee

The Law Department Management Committee provides resources, information and connections for ACC members who have an interest in the challenges of managing a modern law department.  Ranging through talent management and development, firm and vendor coordination, knowledge management and other challenges facing in-house law departments today, the LDMC seeks to provide timely, current and targeted resources for your department’s needs, and to connect you with others who are tackling the same challenges.  We welcome participation from all who are interested, from CLOs and GCs through to “New to In-House” members – the more dynamic our community is, the more value it will deliver for each of us.”

LETTER #3--NEW ACC MEMBER LETTER
Fellow ACC Member,
Allow me to introduce myself--I am the Membership Chair for the ACC’s Law Department Management Committee.
For the first year or two of my membership with ACC, I appreciated the Docket and some of the resources available at ACC.com, but in all honesty probably wouldn’t have paid the membership dues out of my own pocket for access to these resources alone (I am fortunate that my company pays my membership dues).  I am emailing you today because this view dramatically changed when I joined and became involved with the ACC’s Law Department Management Committee, which I would like to welcome you to join as well.  I now have access to value resources and opportunities for my in house practice that I did not know existed previously and you can too.
I’ve included the LDMC’s “value proposition” below, which is our committee’s statement of what we strive to bring to the ACC community.  From publishing resources specific to legal management issues, to hosting monthly teleconferences that allow you to keep current and also build relationships, to our e-groups and the questions that get answered, the LDMC is for many ACC members (approximately 1/5) a key information and relationship portal.  We hope it can be for you as well.
If you’re liking what you hear, you can join the LDMC by:

  1. Logging on to www.acc.com;

  2. Click “committees”;

  3. Click “join a committee”;

  4. Click “join/manage committees”; then

  5. Change the law department management button to “yes”; then

  6. Submit.

You can learn more (including access to resources and committee meeting notices) by visiting our Committee page, or you can directly add a calendar reminder for our next meeting by clicking HERE.  I sincerely hope you join us and get the most from your ACC membership, and from all of us on the LDMC Executive Committee, welcome to the ACC.

Sincerely,

Matt Nolan

LETTER #4--LAPSED MEMBER LETTER
Fellow Association of Corporate Counsel Member,
Allow me to introduce myself – my name is Matt Nolan, and I am the Membership Chair for the ACC’s Law Department Management Committee. Our committee has learned that your ACC membership has recently lapsed and we’d hate for you to miss out on all the great resources the ACC and our committee has to offer in 2015!
Leadership is a focus area this year for our committee given the huge response to our Annual Meeting program on emotional intelligence.  We also have programs on diversity, metrics and GC/CLO issues all in the works.  We expect to have greater impact this year through our e-groups, monthly teleconferences, online resources and website on your daily practice, and we are confident you will find value in all of our committee resources.
Once you renew your ACC membership, you can access our committee’s resources and committee meeting notices by visiting our Committee page, or you can directly add a calendar reminder for our next meeting by clicking HERE.  On behalf of all of us on the LDMC Executive Committee, I hope you re-join us soon – Let me know if there’s anything I can do to help.
Sincerely,

Matt Nolan
