Aims:

  • to teach children how to describe people

  • to develop their pronunciation and speaking

  • to broaden student’s vocabulary



Outcomes of the lesson: by the end of the lesson student can use in speaking and writing what they have learned

1.Pre-task

  • Greeting

  • Warm- up activity. Interactive activity " He/she is ... "

2. While- task

  • Activity 1. Matching ( group work )

  • Activity 2. Doing activity ( individually)

3.Post - task

  • Activity 3. Watching a video related to the topic

  • Activity 4. Interactive activity called " Make a story "

4.Closure

  • Home assignment

Introduction
Pre – task



        1. Greeting




        1. Warm-up activity.

Teacher only gives the instruction . This activities helps teacher to encourage and check students' background knowledge. At the end of the task teacher reads the sentences out loud .

In this activity students have to write about each student without knowing what the former student wrote about someone. Turn by turn all the students will be described . When teacher reads out loud the sentences students try to guess who was described




Main part
While-task

Activity 1. Matching


Teacher divides the class into small groups and gives each group handouts. Contrlos and observes the class and checks wether they did correct or not .


Activity 2. Doing activity.
Teacher gives the instruction and check students.

Students work in small groups . They try to match new words with definitions correctly by themselves.


Students work individually . Each of them have to describe their pairs using new words






Post – stage


Closure

Activity 3. Watching


Teacher asks questions about video.


Activity 4.


- teacher gives instruction. Write words for each student on the blackboard. Checks the students wether they are making correct sentences or not .
Assessment and home assignment.
- Teacher asks students to write a short essay describing themselves , but without writing their names

Students watch the video , take notes if it's needed and answer the questions


Students try to make a story using the word that teacher wrote .


Learners will do the task at home








Assessment criteria
Assessment: total 5 points for the lesson
5 – excellent (doing the tasks without errors , participating actively, understanding spoken English without errors)
4 – good (doing the tasks with 1 or mistakes , participating almost actively, understanding spoken English with few errors)
3 – satisfactory (doing the tasks with 3- 4 mistakes, participating poorly, understanding spoken English fairly)
Alternative Assessment:
* – for working in the group.
