1. Lead in : Brainstorming (guessing Verb-ing forms by pictures)
2. Activity 1 : Watching video (video )
3. Activity 2 : Demonstrating a presentation (Canva presentation)
4. Activity 3 : Providing Ss’ with cards dividing into the groups (checking comprehension)
5. Activity 4. Completing crossword (increasing cognitive flexibility)
6. Activity 5. Revising the words (concluding)




  • Aim

To raise students’ awareness of the topics and Gerund. Use the correct form of the verb after Verb “like”
Being able to speak about things one likes
Give information about hobbies and tell about them

Objective:
to introduce the theme
to build interest in the topic of the lesson and activate Ss’ background knowledge
to develop student’s speaking skills using these words.

*Teacher shows pictures to the students and gives questions in order make them guess new theme. (1 min)
1. What do you think about this pictures?
2. Can you guess the theme of today’s lesson?
3. What do these letters mean NATO, ID, ESP, IT? (Brainstorming)
4. What is the difference between abbreviation and acronym?
*T elicits the random answers
*T divides the class into two groups and let them to discuss, asks volunteers to present their ideas

Students will be able to use their background knowledge and understands the notion of abbreviation by giving examples

*T asks Ss to discuss their ideas connecting to the video and elicits the random answers

T demonstrates mini-presentation by giving explanation


Activity 3
T asks Ss to work with their partners dividing the group into two groups and write meaning of various abbreviations and acronyms. After completing the task Ss submit and T puts tick (√) for correct answers and cross
( ×) for incorrect ones. T finds out the winner of the task by counting ticks

Activity 4
*T.asks Ss to complete crossword correctly working with their groupmates as a team friendly
*Check their comprehension by checking their answers in Activity4

Students watch video and discuss it with their group
