Objectives:
- to practise predicting and reading to check predictions
- to practise inferring the meaning of words from the contexts
- to practise writing a longer text about a famous person
Vocabulary:
Concerts, train, win, the FA Cup Final
Activity la Look and answer questions.
Objective: to use the information in the picture to prepare for reading
Ask PP to read and answer the questions. The answers to the third question may vary. You may want to ask
Why do you like this school? / Why don't you like this school?"
Activity Ib Read the text and answer the questions.
Objective: to read the detailed information to check predictions
Before PP start reading the text draw their attention to the question. After reading the text they should be able to say whether their guesses were right.
Activity le Read the text again and answer the questions.
Objective: to practise inferring the meaning of words from the context
Let PP read the questions and then read the text again. Then they answer the questions. Tell them the text can actually give them the answers to the question How do you know?"
Activity Id Read and answer.
Objective: to move from reading to speaking
PP read and answer the questions one by one.
Consolidation
Activity 2 Write the answers.
Objective: to write about the school using language from the text
PP do this activity in writing following the example.
Activity 3 The computer has a problem with the text. Work in pairs. Help it to write two texts. Objective: to practise writing a longer text about a famous professional: choosing and copying PP work in pairs. Pupil A chooses and copies the sentences about Munojat Yulchieva. Pupil B find and copies the sentences about David Beckham. When they finish, they should read their stories to one another.

Teacher evaluates pupils through giving tasks and put them marks to exercise 3
