Section 4: a monologue on academic subject.

It is the most difficult section.There is no break in the middle,the speaker talks quite quickly and uses a wide range of vocabulary.

Examples: lecture is about endangered species,talk on bringing up children subject,speech about global warming and its effects,lecture about forest reserve etc.

In Section 4, focus on given facts, key ideas and speaker’s opinions and attitudes.
You will be given about 30 seconds to study the questions before the start of each section.

IELTS LISTENING SCORE

Each of the 40 questions is worth 1 point.Depending on how many points you gain,you can receive a score from 0 to 9 points for the Listening Section.The following conversation table applies to calculate your IELTS Listening score.

Time Management in IELTS Listening

You have 30 seconds at the end of each section to check your answers.Instead of doing this,use the time to start looking at the answers for the next section
You will then have 1 minute to look through the last three sections.
There’s no point using this time to check your answers as you can do this at the end when you have 10 minutes to transfer your answers.
Since the timegiven to read the questions is not enough , I would like to know if after you have finished a section you can start reading the questions of the following section.
For example you have finished section 1 and the recording says that you have some time to review your answers(still section 2 recording has not started).
Instead of using the time to review your answers in section 1,can you use that time to start reading the questions in section 2?
In that way, when section 2 starts and you are given the time to read the questions, you have already started so you have a bit of extra time on your hands.Is that possible?
