PRODUCTİON OF FUEL BRİQUETTES FROM HEAVY 

OİL WASTE

     Due  to  the  presence  of  a  number  of  shortcomings  in  the 

provision  of  fuel  to  the  different  regions  of  the  Republic  of 

Azerbaijan  and  in  ensuring  the  environmental  safety  of  the

country  as  a  whole,  the  search  for  and  creation  of  alternative 

fuel sources is one of the pressing problems of our time.  

     The importance of solving this problem was confirmed by a 

presidential  decree  of  the  Republic  of  Azerbaijan  of  October 

21, 2004, and was reflected in the State Program on the Use of 

Alterative  and  Renewable  Energy  Sources  of  the  Republic  of 

Azerbaijan.  

     This work is devoted to the actual problem of obtaining an 

additional type of fuel as oil coke briquettes. Studies have been 

carried  out  to  improve  the  physicochemical  properties, 

ecological  demands  and  optimal  use  both  in  living  conditions 

and in industry.  

      The  objective  of  this  work  is  to  obtain  oil-coke  briquettes 

with  high  mechanical  strength,  low  flash  point,  high 

combustion efficiency. For the study, coke breeze was taken as 

the  basis;  as  a  binder,  a  mixture  of  petroleum  bitumen  and 

pitch,  which  additionally  contains  an  extract  of  selective 

purification of oils, asphaltite and paraffin.          

    With the rising cost  of oil, reducing its reserves,  alternative 

resources  are  becoming  more  common.The  proposed  oil  coke 

briquette  due  to  its  high  calorific  value  can  be  used  as  a  fuel, 

both  in  industry  and  in  everyday  life  instead  of  coal,  coal 

briquettes and wood.
