Just4Keepers Session Plans
The Just4Keepers session plans have been put together
through the combination of several ex professional players
experiences on what they did on the training ground with
their professional football club.
J4K now has over
300
years combined experience from
Professional and International goalkeepers to tap into.
However we understand that what professional footballers
do on the training ground every day, is completely
different to what will be taught to the Just4Keepers
students, which age group will generally be between seven
and sixteen.
So these session plans have been modified for the younger
player but also more importantly into fun games, which
enable your students to focus more as it is a proven fact
that students learn more while having fun!
If there is anything that you do not understand in this
session plan manual please do not hesitate to contact any
of the Just4Keeper mentors.
Please remember this session plan manual is only to give
you a foundation and further ideas what to do on the
coaching field. It is VITAL to your success that you bring in
some of your own experiences and more importantly
personality into your training sessions!
So use this session plan manual as your foundation to
success!

Breaking your session up!
A Very important success of our sessions plans in that we
break our sessions in quarters.
So for an hour’s class, we will have 4 X 15 minutes
sessions:
And these normally are:
0-15 Minutes: Stretching, fun Games to start:
15-30: Minutes: Agility and technical exercises
30-45: Minutes: Group exercise games
45-60: Minutes: Shooting and competitive games.
If we did a 1hr.30 minutes session, this would also be
broken up into quarterly times.
It is also important to note that sometimes you may not
be able to stick to this tight time frame as many factors
can interrupt your session plan. This could be bad
weather, which generally means that you will have to alter
your training session plan so your students do not get
cold.
So it might be the case that you do a 3 x 20 minute
session. Remember a good coach has to improvise at the
drop of a hat!

Please Note:
Some coaches prefer to break their session
up into three sections which are:
Another reason that may make you change your session,
is if the students need more time to learn the new skill/s
you are teaching.
0-20 Minutes: Stretching, fun Games to start:
20-40: Minutes: Agility and technical exercises
40-60: Minutes: Group exercise games…
OR… Shooting and competitive games.
In the above 3 X20 scenario the last 20 minutes, you can
mix and match the drills and do either
Group exercise
games
or
Shooting and competitive games.
Important Note:
You have to remember that your students (especially the
children) will
only
come back to you if they enjoy
themselves, so its important that fun comes
FIRST
in your
training sessions and being a great coach comes
SECOND!
If you sway away from this rule in your training session
FORGET
making money as a coach.
4
Please remember:
That your students will only remember the first 15 -20
minutes of your session and the last 15 – 20 minutes of
your session, so if you get these parts correct (i.e. your
students enjoy themselves) you will not want for
customers.
Never EVER forget this!
Another thing to point out, just because we call things fun
and games, this
definitely
does not mean we loose our
standing of being coaches!
EVERYTHING that we teach is linked to coaching our
students or designed to help our students in a match
situation.

How to set out your session plans.
Section 1:
Stretching, fun Games to start:
(0-15mins) or (0-20
mins)
Its vital to start you sessions with an explosion, so the
first 15 -20 minutes is important for you as a coach to set
the tempo for that particular session. These session plans
will do just that for you!
Section 2:
Agility and technical exercises:
(15 – 30 mins) or (20 –
40 mins if you decide on splitting session into three)
This is the bread and butter for the students development
in this section. However if you do too much coaching (in
