The entrance to this residence is through the Thompson barber shop where Mr R. was getting shaved & I talked to his daughter, wife & niece. This house is just around the corner from where I got off at the street car sta. Mr R. says his grandfather was Isaac Rothermel, was a farmer & had the following children:

I found Mr Rothermel sitting on his front porch, he having got in a few minutes before from Pottsville Pa where he is clerk in the Recorders office. Morris who died but she lives in Centralia which is abt 2 miles fr Mt Carmel. She has two children living & one boy was killed in France in the World War.

He was not sure of his grandfather's name & first said it was Jacob Rothermel but concludes it was Isaac & that it was his brother Jacob that went west he thought to MO.

He said his grandfather Rothermel's father lived in Northumberland Co. Examine wills at Sunbury. One of the brothers of his father lives on the old home farm. Edwin K. Rothermel says he was born in Klingerstown Pa June 18, 1874 & was married June 15, 1904 at Pottsville Pa by Rev D.J. Power (Episcopal) to Margaret Stevenson daughter of Hugh F. I got my dinner & commenced on page 299 to write up my work. AT 1 PM the night clerk said one party who had a reservation didn't turn up, so he let me have the room. It is now 3 AM & I will go to bed as I am to be called at 5 AM, so I can get my breakfast at the Plaza Rest. & catch the 6 AM train on the P&R RR for Sunbury Pa. JVT
