As a result of implemented measures to reform agriculture in order to diversify 
production, improve land reclamation condition, introduce modern highly effective 
agricultural technologies and strengthen the material and technical basis of farms, the 
volume of gross agricultural output in 2016 was 47486,1 billion sums (the growth in 2,7 
times in comparison with 2000), of which the volume of crop production - 29042,4 billion 
sums (2,8 times) and that of livestock production - 18443,7 billion sums (2,6 times). In 
2010-2016 the volume of agricultural production steadily increased, the growth was 6-7 
percent per year. 
National standard of Good Agricultural Practice (G.A.P. – Good Agricultural 
Practice) based on requirements of GLOBAL G.A.P. has been developed and introduced in 
Uzbekistan. Now, local companies planning to enter global market can obtain international 
GLOBALG.A.P. Certificates spending less time and money. 
GLOBAL G.A.P. is an internationally recognized set of standards ensuring food 
safety and compliance with quality and technical requirements. Currently, agricultural 
producers in more than 124 countries around the world are under GLOBALG.A.P. 
Certification and the total number of certified producers exceed 180,000, of which 75% 
offer crop products (vegetables and fruits)

In competitive global and regional markets of agricultural products, the GLOBAL 
G.A.P. Certificate confirms the adherence of the grown products to all the quality 
requirements that undoubtedly contributes to customer loyalty improvement and sales 
growth. Through implementation of the GLOBAL G.A.P. Standard, a producer, 
demonstrates openness and responsibility for its products. This always positively effects on 
improving the company‘s image and sales. 
Previously, local producers of agricultural products needed to contact foreign 
companies for product certification according to the GLOBAL G.A.P. Compliance with the 
GLOBAL G.A.P. Standard for farmers will simplify access to foreign markets and increase 
revenue. Consumers will be able to receive high-quality and safe agricultural products, and

the staff of agricultural companies will be provided with decent working conditions. In 
addition, the Global G.A.P. standard requires that agricultural producers have an 
environmental approach in their work and concern for the preservation of the environment.
