Maqolada bolalar adabiyotini ingliz tilidan rus tiliga tarjima 
qilishda uchragan ba’zi qiyinchiliklar ko‘rsatilgan. Mazkur kichik izlanish Vinni 
Puhning sarguzashtlari va Alisa g‘aroyibotlar mamlakatida ertaklari misolida yaxshi 
tarjimaning muvaffaqiyatiga olib keladigan bir qator o‘ziga xos uslublarga urg‘u 
beradi.

Bringing up a comprehensively harmonious new generation is one of the most 
important tasks of our country today. From this point of view, children’s literature is at 
the forefront of educating young people.
Children’s literature is a word art and a means 
of education.
Any work of art written for children should be appropriate to their age, 
level and evoke thoughts in the hearts of readers; should be rich in vivid images and 
high ideals; should be inspiring to huge and bright work.
Most importantly, the topics 
should be expressed in clear, simple and interesting language. Children’s literature is a 
powerful tool of our independent country in educating young people in the spirit of faith, 
justice and patriotism. 
What is children’s literature? Children’s literature is often defined as a collection 
of books written for children, read by children, and/or written about children.

According to Wikipedia, children’s literature or juvenile literature includes stories, 
books, magazines, and poems that are made for children.
Scholars have different variations to define the concept of children’s literature. 
Oittinen (Oittinen, 1993) defines children’s literature as “literature produced and 
intended for children or as literature read by children”. Hunt (1990), however, says that 
the boundaries of children’s literature are not clear-cut and that children’s literature 
cannot be defined by textual characteristics either of style or content, while its primary 
audience is equally elusive. 
For Klingberg, children’s literature is literature produced 
specifically for children. This author excludes all other writing and pictures 
that children may read and specifies that a distinction should be made 
between literature read by children and literature produced for children. 
Love for literature begins in childhood, which means, love to reading begins with 
children’s literature. Problems with which many specialists face when translating 
children’s literature, were always interesting for translators. 
Children’s literature is a set of works that has been created by the authors, taking 
into account the psychophysiological characteristics of children. Works for children 
should take into account children’s interests and hobbies. Often works written originally 
for adults, become children’s literature. For example, “Robinson Crusoe” by Daniel 
Defeau, “Don Quixote” by M. Cervantes, “The Journey Gulliver” by Jonathan Swift and 
many others.
The specifics of the translation of children’s literature is associated with a focus on 
audience up to 16 years. Therefore, you need to translate into accordance with the 
perception, understanding and awareness of the world of each age group of children. 
There are many challenges, which a children’s literature translator faces with. On 
the one hand, it is important that the meaning and idea of the work are accurately 
conveyed, on the other hand, the translator must be able to avoid “formal literalism ". 
At the same time, one cannot “lure” with the text of the original. Translation must be 
saturated with national color of the primary source that will allow a foreign language 
reader to present the originality of the style of the author being translated.
