Before the release date
1. The best time promoting is on the release date. Don’t focus to much on pre-orders or pre-
saves. Drop your track as a bomb on the release date, just focus more on preparing your
social media pages and playlists with content.
2. You can post a small preview, use related hashtags and tag the label on your posts
3. Make some Instagram stories of you, listening the upcoming track on the studio (or car, or
club, just to get people motivated)
4. Create DJ charts on Beatport with similar tracks including your
track and post it on your
social media
5. Prepare as much content is possible and submit your posts here
https://alvedamusic.com/post-submission/
(don’t forget to include ALWAYS your press
pictures, use only original content and not the artwork). These posts may be published if
accepted on the label’s website and social media pages.
On the release date
1. Create your own DJ Charts on Beatport including your track. Include only 1-2 tracks from
celebrities, support smaller artists because it’s more likely to support you too in the future.
2. Share your charts everywhere
3. Look at the social pages of the label and share your track links everywhere (we use
SoundCloud
as our main source, so follow us there firstly to be updated)
4. Copy the smart link (buy link)
[ example link:
https://alvedamusic.lnk.to/above
]
that you
will find on SoundCloud, and use it for your Instagram profile link. It looks way more
professional and it’s helpful for your fans.
5. If you are a DJ, make some mixes with your track and upload them on MixCloud
6. Submit your track on Spotify Playlists
https://dailyplaylists.com/
(please note that you will
need to follow all lists and profiles from the network to submit your song)
7. For collecting your publishing royalties you will need a publisher like SongTrust
https://app.songtrust.com/signup/?discount_code=247453a-1
(there is an
upfront fee of
around $100, it may be worth it if you write a lot of tracks and you have tracks played on the
radio). Note that these are NOT the neighbouring rights which the label collects.
8. Tag always the label so we can check your post, like and repost if possible.
9. If you see an issues regarding the linking on wrong artist profile on Spotify, then use this
form

Other things to do
•
Download tracks exclusive from Alveda Music labels and make mixes for YouTube and
other platforms.
If you upload it on YouTube, you will make profits from it and get them
paid by Alveda Music (just ignore the copyright message, don’t try to whitelist anything)
•
Take a professional picture of you and update your Beatport Artist Profile
https://www.jotform.com/form/13105057250
(it may take several weeks for update)
•
Register as a DJ and download free tracks from our label group here:
https://alvedamusic.com/promo/
•
Follow and support always artists like you. Don’t focus or invest time on artists that won’t
support you and always don’t look just the numbers.
After the release date what to expect
•
We will send you statements after the end of every quarter
•
The first statements are always around zero, usually after 6-12 months period you will start
noticing the first normal statements. Each platform has it’s own paying schedule so don’t
expect to get all streams/downloads from the first statement.
•
Don’t expect any crazy amount of royalties, we had licensed tracks in the past even on
major labels and the revenues were made were less than 5€ per year. Don’t get fool from
managers or labels that they will make you millionaires. It’s more about branding and
showcasing yourself.
But take always care, there are many labels out there that don’t even
provide statements.
•
If you don’t have a bank account, you can create one account to receive royalties with less
fees using Wise

General Advises
•
Work with as many labels possible, always look first for their licensing partners and NOT
their social media. There are many labels with just few followers but having successful deals
with majors and great labels out there.
•
Licensing is the most important key in the music business, having a label with a lot of
partner labels is the key for success on the distribution side of your release. Being on a label
without licensing partners is not something that may benefit you in the future.
•
Work always as a team with your label, sometimes you will get criticism or negative
feedbacks but it’s something that you can’t avoid in the industry.
•
Always support artists that they (or will) support you.
If one of you gets successful, it’s a
huge chance that you will be too.
•
Be polite with other artists and labels. Simply explain them with few words and ignore them
if you get a lot of pressure.
•
If you can’t get the mood to make new music, simply do something else, clear your mind for
several days, then go on Beatport or YouTube to watch other artists and get inspired.
•
Don’t think it’s bad to use samples, its the perfect way to get inspired and it’s worth the
investment. Go on

and grab
your samples for your next
creation.
