Principle of Membership. Family members have the right to the participation and cooperation of one another, and the responsibility to provide the same for others.

The principle of membership gives a person the right to the support of his family members for any activity that doesn't violate the Principles of Family, and cites the responsibility to provide that support to others. Helping and sharing, two other management strategies, are ways of participating and cooperating.

5.  Principle of Quality. Family members have the right to perform their tasks at a level of excellence, and the responsibility to promote the same for others.

When the service or product of a task creates the consequences that the family desires, quality has been achieved. These consequences may be aesthetic as well as functional. To promote quality, the family has the responsibility to provide the necessary resources and training when possible and to understand that the definition of quality changes over time. The criteria used to assess a child's performance in achieving excellence are not the same as they are for an adult.
