Inspiration and Motivation
There are various situations that continue to inspire us and help us to achieve our objectives in the optimum of our capacities. It enables us to work harder and create better opportunities that will shape our individual skills and practices. Due to this, we tend to showcase to others our capabilities while at the same time giving them the same opportunity to excel in their given responsibilities. In the end, it is man’s mindset and motivation that continues to guide them towards their respective goals and interests.
Given the numerous setbacks and challenges surrounding individuals either in the workplace or in classrooms, their mindset is an important determinant in generating the needed boost in output and production. That is why many educators and organizational managers prescribe the importance of motivational factors and programs to generate these outcomes. Likewise, motivation is correlated with many positive factors as it seeks to generate the intended action with an added enhancement. “Motivation strengthens the ambition, increases initiative and gives direction, courage, energy and the persistence to follow one’s goals” Seeing this, I too have many experiences wherein I felt enthusiastic and excited to accomplish my tasks. One example would be when our professor instructed each one of us to create a project for extra credit. This involves designing in our own artistic skills our ideas and perception surrounding a subject. Since I am very fond of drawing; I found this a good chance to showcase my talents and abilities. In addition, I needed the project to boost my grade
With the events that transpired, I feel that this is one example that showcases motivation. My desire to show my talents and capabilities to other people together with getting an extra credit served as my purpose for exerting my extra time and effort in attaining these skills. “Motivation is usually strong, when one has a vision, a clear mental image of a certain situation or achievement, and also a strong desire to materialize it” (Sasson, 2006, p.1) Moreover, I felt a strong connection with what I am doing because I was learning and having fun at the same time.
Also, I felt that during my reporting, I was able to touch people into believing in their own capabilities. They saw my work as an example that anything can be achieved only if people will believe in their own abilities. On the other hand, it also served as a good training ground for me to enhance on my leadership skills. This endeavor instilled in me the importance of discipline and persistence in the things I do. I believe that these traits are essential in helping leaders transform their followers into being efficient and effective. In the end, I was not only able to get an extra credit for my work but also gave the occasion of satisfaction and meaning to others.
