Creation of a system of physical education and sports. After gaining state independence in Uzbekistan, along with culture, education, and science, much attention was paid to physical education and sports. The steady increase in the allocated funds and budget of the country is one of the important indicators that the development of physical culture and sports in the country has been given attention as one of the important areas of state policy. Constant state support has become one of the main factors for the successful participation of our country's athletes in international competitions. In 1992, at the IX session of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Law "On physical culture and sport" was adopted, after amendments and additions, it was approved in a new version in 2015, which served to further develop the field of sports. There are 536 children's and youth sports schools, 5 colleges of the Olympic reserve, and 8 Republican higher schools of sports excellence specializing in the training of highly qualified athletes. On August 10, 2017, the President signed a decree "On measures to further improve the activities of the Uzbek state Institute of physical culture". In accordance with this document, the Uzbek state Institute of physical culture was relocated to Chirchik. Starting from the 2017-2018 academic year, the Uzbek state Institute of physical culture has organized a distance learning Department. A lot of work has been done in the country to develop the material and technical base of physical culture and sports. A number of sports complexes that meet international requirements have been built in Tashkent, Namangan, Jizzakh, Ferghana, Bukhara, Khorezm, Andijan, Samarkand, Gulistan and other cities. These are "YUNUSABAD", "Zhar", "Bunyodkor" complexes in Tashkent, "Pahlavon" in Namangan, sports complexes of the Olympic reserve College in Jizzakh, and a number of others. According to the Decree of the President, the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on physical culture and sports was organized in March 2018.
