7. Recommendations – How to Effectively Fight Inflation in Russia

The above analysis clearly shows that Russia faces a serious problem with bringing the

inflation  rate  to  low,  i.e.  one-digit  level,  being  by  any  reasonable  standards  one  of  the

basic conditions for a good investment/entrepreneurial climate and sustainable economic

growth.  Until  1999,  the  fiscal  policy  could  be  blamed  as  an  ultimate  factor  being
