Individual Report: Should we be concerned about global warming now?
Topic Area: Climate Change - Global Warming
Climate change is the consequences of the human action done
over the period. Which includes air pollution,
deforestation, nitrous oxide emissions, etc. One of the major results of
human-action is the temperature increase happening on Earth is
commonly referred to as global warming. To sum up,
this topic of
climate change is literally on every source and the world’s big
organizations such as the UN and NASA are trying to influence people
to become more caring when it comes to Environment but no action or
no followers! So every time I watch these kinds of sources, I think a
little bit and become interested in the consequences and from that a
question appears,
“
Should we be concerned about global
warming?”
since no one takes it seriously!
In this individual report I will examine what
are the effects and as well
as the concerning level of global warming.
There are many actions that cause global warming, but the major
ones are deforestation and air pollution. While these are mostly
resulted by human action. To start with, deforestation became the
high level reason since humans started cutting down trees in high
numbers. When
I did the research for this, I found that these cutting
trees were mostly for paper producing and building communities in

that land area. Losing these trees will result in less photosynthesis.
Photosynthesis, the process by which green plants and certain other
organisms transform light energy into chemical energy. During
photosynthesis
in green plants, light energy is captured and used to
convert water, carbon dioxide, and minerals into oxygen and
energy-rich organic compounds.[1]
When there's more carbon dioxide
in the atmosphere, it makes the atmosphere warmer by trapping heat.
Since humans emit more CO2 to the atmosphere,
that helps explain
why temperatures are increasing around the world. Solution for this
will be restrictions for cutting down trees, where effective way for that
will be the government creating new laws in this area.
Next is the air pollution. The 21st century is the period now that cars
and other vehicles are popular, common. Approximately more than 80
percent of the cars in the world use fossil fuel as their “meal”. [2] And
these cars emit gas to the atmosphere,
where they rise up and build
blocks. The heat from the Sun comes to the Earth and some percent
of it should be reflected back but the gas contained block pushes that
heat back. This also causes the average temperature to rise up on the
Earth. But the solution cannot be reducing fossil fuels usage since a
huge proportion of vehicles use it. According to
NC CLEAN ENERGY
TECHNOLOGY CENTER,
the appropriate solution for this argument is to
avoid using cars as much as possible,
using Electro mobile cars,
increasing the use of public transit. So, the emission of fossil gas will
significantly decrease if any of these are applied or used as much as
possible.

Conclusion
To conclude, at first I had no idea about climate change and I used to
think that it is a positive process related to weather. But after this
research I realized I was totally wrong
except that I knew it was
something with weather changing. So, I can say that my perspective
towards climate change shifted 180 degrees.
If these causes are prevented or solved well enough, we will not see
natural disasters in near future. And the issues like:
Decreasing of the productivity because of disappearing the
winter (Local)
Damaged of the countryside because of rising sea levels
(National)
Droughts caused by because of frequent heat wave (global)
will slowly decrease its damage to the environment.
When I talked with my parents, I realized
that climate change was a
totally different theme but then as I said above it was a negatively
approached topic among insiders.
