MY CITY
In a town or city there are many houses. Streets, roads and squares. Trams, buses, trolley-buses, taxis and other motor-cars go or run along the streets. A man who drives them is a driver. There is much traffic in some streets.
In Great Britain the traffic drivers on the left and in Uzbekistan it drives on the right. In every town at the corners of the streets you can see traffic lights. On both sides of the streets there are many street lights (or lamps).
Sometimes a tram or a bus cannot take you to the place where you want to go. Then you must change one tram for another.
In many large cities such as Moscow, London, New York, Kiew, Tashkent there is the metro which they call tube or underground in London and subway in New York.
The first underground travel in the world was made in London in 1863. It was a new and strange way of travel. The construction of Moscow metro began in 1932. Its first line went into operation in May 1935. Now metro is a safe, fast and reliable means of transport. In the metro you may change or other lines too. You can go to all parts of the city by metro.
