Agricultural products

When exporting certain agricultural products from Germany to a non-EU country, legal provisions which stipulate the submission of specific documents must be observed.
Goods marked with a "G" in Part II of the Export List may only be exported if a valid certificate of conformity for fruit and vegetables, a disclaimer, or an authorisation can be shown.
The Federal Agency for Agriculture and Food (Bundesanstalt für Landwirtschaft und Ernährung, BLE) monitors conformance with the marketing standards and will issue the required documents if the conditions are met.

Any individual leaving Germany for a non-EU country and carrying cash in a total amount of 10,000 euros or more, must declare the total amount of money to the competent customs station in writing.
Any means of payment deemed equivalent to cash in the amount of 10,000 or more euros must be reported orally to the inquiring official when requested to do so.

Cash subject to declaration

Cash comprises cash money and certain securities.
The term "cash money" includes, for instance,

  banknotes and coins that are legal tender, or
  
• 
  banknotes and coins that are not legal tender, but that can still be exchanged for currency that is legal tender (for example, deutschmarks or Austrian schillings, which can still be exchanged for euros).
  

The term "securities" includes, for instance,

• 
  savings bonds,
  
• 
  cheques, travellers' cheques,
  
• 
  shares, and
  
• 
  drafts.
  

Foreign currencies shall be valued in euros at the exchange rate applicable on the day of exit.
The value of collectors’ or bullion coins (such as Maple Leaf, Eagle, Wiener Philharmoniker) shall be calculated based on its actual value and not the coin’s face value.

Oral declaration of equivalent means of payment

Any person taking means of payment deemed equivalent to cash in a total amount of 10,000 euros or more out of Germany to a non-EU country, must orally declare that amount when enquired by a customs official.
