using animals is helpful when conducting
medical research, some volunteers are willing to participate in experiments
in exchange for payment. This means that there is no need to conduct
experiments on animals since better alternatives are available.
As mentioned above
, using animals to benefit humankind is
unacceptably cruel, and viable alternatives are available. It is horrifying
that, as a society, we do not regard the killing of innocent animals in
experiments as unacceptable. Yet, we would cringe at the thought of doing
the same with humans. We must learn to respect animal lives in the same
way that we respect human lives.
