subject for me. I never grew tired reviewing
my lessons because they were
useful especially that our school had an English Only Policy in the campus.
Through the things I learned from the subject, I was never penalized for
speaking the local language unlike my other classmates and schoolmates were.
Through this subject, I was chosen as the editor in chief of our school’s
publication.
Describe an important choice you had to make in your life.
You should say the following:
When you had this choice
What you had to choose between
Whether you made a good choice
How you felt when you were making this choice
After
high school graduation, I was confronted by two options to live my life—
to pursue studying or work. Both options were promising; the first would surely
bring a lifetime of benefits, and the second would be money. It took me several
months to finally make a decision, and I chose pursuing my education. It was a
tough choice because I was on my own when I studied in the university.
Financial and moral support was so scanty so that literally, I was alone in my
battle. But this was a decision I never regretted
despite hardships because it
somehow made me lift myself from the pit of poverty that my family had been
suffering. Long-term benefits must be considered when making a choice. This is
a lesson I want to pass on to my children.
Describe a job you have done.
You should say the following:
How you got to doing the job
What the job involved
How long the job lasted
How well you did the job
When I was a university student, I worked as a library
assistant for almost three
years. Every day I had to spend three hours working, and this usually took place
in my free time. This job really required self-discipline since I had to wake up
before six and start working at seven in the morning. I was in charge of the
periodical section, so I would sort newspapers. After this task, I would need to
arrange books in their shelves. I would say the job was physically demanding
since
books were thick, which I really had to carry. There wasn’t a single second
in my schedule to relax. I did some light tasks like dusting and cutting articles
for our periodical clippings. Life was never easy then, but I was happy because I
did well both in my part-time job and academics.
Describe an area of the countryside you know and like.
You should say the following:
Where it is
What its special features are
What you and other people do in this area
Why you like it
I would like to talk about my hometown named _____.
This place is situated in
the southernmost part of the Philippines. Its population is composed of the
minority, and most of them make a living through farming, logging, and fishing.
There are also some who have a position in the local government, but mostly the
source of livelihood is agriculture and fishery. This place has its clean streets
with different species of flowers and trees around. There are only few cars, so
you can surely breathe fresh air every millisecond of your life. These are the
most interesting things that make me proud of this place.
Most of the political
leaders settle here, so I can see progress—though very slow. But compared to
some places, my hometown is economically better off. This is the main reason
why I am fond of this place. I know the next generation will still savor and enjoy
the good things my place has.
