Read the text and match the names of the books by famous British writer Roald Dahl in the left-hand column (21-25) and the sentences in the right-hand column (A-G) which give information about the books. There are more sentences than you need.

Matilda
Matilda Wormwood is a gifted girl with unpleasant parents. From a young age she can speak like an adult. Since her parents don’t pay much attention to her, Matilda teaches herself to read. Before she has even been to elementary school, she has already read many books in the local library. She spends her afternoons at the library where a friendly librarian helps Matilda choose classic novels. Matilda’s parents think she should read less and watch more television.


The Witches
The Boy, whose parents have died in a car accident, has to live with his grandmother in a house left to him by his parents. Grandmamma, who says she used to hunt witches, tells him descriptive stories of witches with big nostrils, claws, bald heads, feet that are square and have no toes, and blue spit. She tells him that these witches are real and that they hate children, so he should keep an eye out for them.
James and The Giant Peach
After James had been living with his aunts for three years, he meets a mysterious man who gives him a bag of magical crystals, instructing James to use them in a potion that would change his life for the better. While returning home, James stumbles and spills the bag on the ground, losing the crystals as they dig themselves underground. A nearby peach tree, in turn, produces a single peach which soon grows to the size of a house. Spiker and Sponge build a fence around it and earn money by selling viewing tickets to tourists; James is locked in the house only able to see the peach through the bars of his bedroom window.
The BFG
Sophie, an eight-year-old girl in an orphanage, cannot sleep. Looking out of her window, she sees a mysterious giant in the street, carrying a suitcase and a trumpet. The giant sees Sophie, who tries to hide in bed, but the giant picks her up through the window. Sophie is carried to a large cave in the middle of a desolate land, where the giant sets her down. Believing that he intends to eat her, Sophie pleads for her life, but the giant laughs and dismisses the idea. He explains that although most giants do eat humans, he does not, because he is the Big Friendly Giant, or BFG.
