4. Переводите и запомните следующие слова с суффик­сом -ward(s),

Образец: southward(s) по направлению к югу, к югу, на юг upward(s), downward(s), inward, outward, toward(s), forward, backward(s), eastward.
5. Среди данных слов найдите прилагательные и пере­ведите их.

attention, customary (custom — обычай), organize, easy, secondary, suburban, difference, regular, American, faulty (fault—дефект), smoothness, noisy (noise—шум), Siberian, heavy, decidedly, subterranean (terra—земля).

6. Найдите в тексте слова с интернациональным кор­нем и определите их значение (абз. 2, 3, 5, 7, 10).

7. Определите значения выделенных слов и словосоче­таний, не пользуясь словарем.
