A child has certain rights from birth. However, the newborn is not able to defend his rights, and while he grows to such an opportunity, his interests should be protected by the force of law. According to statistics, the main cause of violations of children's rights in the world is related to their age.

It is known that 30 percent of the country's population, or more than 12 million, are young people and children. That is why international experts note that "Uzbekistan is a young, dynamically developing state."

However, to date, in our country there was no institution to protect the rights of children. In this sense, a very important event was the introduction of the post of the Deputy Commissioner for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Ombudsman) - Commissioner for the Rights of the Child. The formation of the Children's Ombudsman Institute is also relevant. This is fully consistent with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Today, the Children's Ombudsman operates in more than 30 countries around the world. It contributes to the widespread implementation of international legal norms in the legislation, to increasing respect for the personality, dignity, rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of the child on the part of the public, state structures, as well as parents. Develops new forms and procedures for dealing with the appeals of children and youth. His tasks also include dialogue with the youngest citizens of society, providing them with practical assistance in solving their problems.

Starting from the 2019/2020 academic year, additional quotas on the basis of a state grant of up to one percent of the total number of applicants are allocated for graduates - orphans of Relief Houses and children's towns when admitting to higher education institutions.

In a word, in our country new mechanisms and principles are being developed in the field of ensuring the rights of the child. Children will be given wider benefits.
