Uzbekistan Quality Job Creation as a Cornerstone for Sustainable Economic Growth
in 2030, and rail transport is expected to grow at 5% annually, from 64 million
tons in 2013 to 146 million tons in 2030 (CER 2013a).
A 1% increase in investments in the transport sector will result in a 0.94%
greater volume of freight traffic (CER 2013a). To match the projected rise
in traffic with an assumed 8% GDP growth rate, investment in the transport
sector is projected to increase from 3.5% of GDP (the average annual rate
during 2005–2012) to 4.6% in 2030. This amounts to a total investment
of nearly $46.7 billion in 2030, with annual investments increasing from
$2.1 billion in 2015 to $5.1 billion in 2030.
