MAKING MOLDFLOW ANALYSIS TO PRODUCE DIFFERENT 
GEOMETRY PARTS IN THE SAME MOLD

Abstract. 
It is necessary to make an injection mold to produce the plastic part designed in computer environment. The design 
of the plastic mold can vary depending on the geometry of the part. Generally, plastic molds are made as one-cavity (1 part) or multiple-
cavity (for more than one part). Various analysis programs are used to see the behavior of the part in the injection machine while 
designing the mold. In this study, the analysis were made in the Moldflow program for two plastic parts with different geometries to 
come out of a single mold. Analyzes such as filling and runner balance were performed by taking the diameters of the cold runner type 
runners in equal dimensions. In addition, comparisons were made with analyzes made with different sizes of runner diameters. In the 
analysis performed on runner diameters of different sizes, it was seen that the filling, pressure drop and temperature distributions were 
equal.
