Present Continuous Tense

• Present is one of the tenses which is used to describe an action that is happening in the moment
• For example:
• I am playing football with my friends now.
• she is reading a novel at the moment.
• They are watching movie.
• You are playing the guitar with the singer.
• He is running on the street.

Present Continuous Tense

The chef is cooking a meal at the moment.

They are dancing now.

We always use to be an auxiliary verb in present continuous sentences.

• He
• She is +Ving
• It

• We
• You are + Ving
• They

Other uses:

• Temporary situations
• They normally play tennis. But they are skating this week.
• Changing events:
• Yesterday it was sunny but now it is raining more and more.
• Future arrangements:
• Tomorrow is my mother’s birthday. We are organising a party for her.

Pretty girls are singing together.

Jack is playing the piano.

Even last week was sunny it is snowing now.
