History of departments of surgery

Oripov U. O. (1927-2001)
Oripov Uktam Oripovich - Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Honored Doctor of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Honored Scientist of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences and the New York Academy of Sciences, Honorary Doctor of the Budapest Semmelweis Medical University, laureate of the Beruni State Prize in science and technology. In 1964-1966 he headed the Department of Surgical Diseases for students of the Faculty of Dentistry. From 1966 to 1997 he headed the Department of Faculty Surgery. In 1988, the Department of Faculty Surgery was renamed the first Department of Surgical Diseases, and since 1990 it has been renamed again to the “Department of Faculty Surgery”. Academician Aripov U.A. prepared 25 doctors of sciences, about 80 candidates of sciences. Author of 450 scientific articles, 18 brochures, 3 manuals, more than 30 patents.

Nurmukhamedov R.M. (1925-2008)
Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Rakhim Mukhamedovich Nurmukhamedov - Honored Health Worker and Honored Scientist, headed various surgical departments of the Tashkent State Medical Institute. From 1969 to 1972 he was the head of the Department of Surgical Diseases for students of the Faculty of Medicine and Prevention, from 1972 to 1976 - Head of the Department of General Surgery, from 1976 to 1981 - Head of the Department of Surgery of the Second Medical Faculty, from 1981 to 1988 - Head of the Department of Surgery of the Andijan Medical Institute, from 1988 to 2008 - Professor of the Department of Surgery. R.M. Nurmukhamedov skillfully carried out scientific and pedagogical activities and social and organizational work at the institute. From 1960 to 1971 - Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, then Dean, Chairman of the Problem Commission, Vice-Rector. From 1982 to 1989 R.M. Nurmukhamedov was the rector of the Andijan Medical Institute. R.M. Nurmukhamedov has published more than 400 scientific papers, including 13 monographs, textbooks, reference books. Prepared 33 candidates of medical sciences.
