High school application criteria and documentation

HIGH SCHOOL APPLICATION CRITERIA AND DOCUMENTATION:

High School Criteria: In order to be considered for a scholarship, you must complete the attached application and meet the following criteria:

• 
  You must be enrolled as a senior in a secondary school on Saipan with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher at the time of application.
  

• 
  You must show proof of acceptance to a college, university, or vocational school of your choice.
  

• 
  You must have completed either the SAT or ACT college entrance exams and submit your scores with this application packet
  

• 
  You must submit letters of recommendation from two people (one should be from a business employer/mentor or an educator.)
  

• 
  You must submit an essay of no more than 1,000 words on the topic: “How I Will Change My Community.”
  

High school senior documents to be submitted: (All materials must be submitted to the Saipan Chamber of Commerce office, located on the third floor of the Marianas Business Plaza in Susupe, no later than 5:00 p.m., Wednesday May 11, 2016. Some applicants may be asked to attend a personal interview as part of the selection process.

• Completed application form

• CNMI-accredited high school transcript with GPA (minimum 3.5 GPA required)

• Copy of SAT or ACT results

• Summary of extra-curricular activities and examples of leadership within the community

• Two letters of recommendation, at least one of whom is from an educator or business employer/mentor

• Essay of no more than 1,000 words: “How I Will Change My Community”

• Copies of any college, university, or vocational school acceptance letters received by you as of the date you submit your application.
