Efficient ways in tea

I. In-class writing task
Task: Write a critical report on the given reading extract. (200-250 words)
Assessment criteria:

  • Task response (audience, level of formality, number of words)

  • Organization (layout, cohesion)

  • Extended emphasis on decisive points by referencing to the examples from the text.

  • Variety of vocabulary/structure

  • Mechanics (spelling, punctuation)



II. Writing Test (choose 3 of the followings)
1. Break the text into paragraphs
2. Identify the topic sentence in the given paragraph.
3. Identify types of paragraph (descriptive/narrative)
4. Edit the given paragraph.
5. Identify odd sentence out in the given text that breaks the unity of the paragraph.
7. Other

Example task 1: Rearrange the sentences in each set to create a coherent paragraph. Write the letters of the sentences in their new order on the lines given. Then write out the paragraph.
