Ideology of Empire or Dugin’s Ideology
Summary
There is a great crisis of political ideology in the modern Russian politics. Ideology does not become the main factor of the political process; the gap is successfully filled by the popularization of the political leaders.
One of the ideologists of the “newborn Russian Empire” is A. Dugin. His ideological views are very popular. Leading “new Eurasian” is considered to be the most influenced ultra nationalist in Russia. Dugin’s ideology is the Russian variant of Euro fascism-right anti liberal ideology-that opposes “European” and “Anglo-Saxon” (American) ideologies.
Its characteristics are: xenophobia, anti democracy and deep hatred of the West. He confesses: “We are with Europe not for the values but for the geopolitical interests”. But he is against joining the Europe. “God save us from joining Europe. Let is deprave as it likes”. Dugin thinks that America holds the globalization rudder that threatens Russia, the fulcrum of traditions and spirituality. Russia considers German and France to be its allies against dictates of the USA.
He considers Japan to be the ideal possible partner of The West. But Japan became the part of the “Atlantic world” and lost its spiritual values. The final aim of Russia is to lock America in its continent and do not let it govern over the world.
Despite the “restart” process, the contradiction between Moscow and Washington will last for a long time. According Dugin it is the matter of death and life.
Dugin says that Moscow will create new Russian empire on one of the important territories of The RSSR. Russia carries out the direct Eurasian strategies. Russia has already “kicked” Georgia. It is unknown what part plays A.Dugin’s geopolitical doctrine in it, but nowadays it coincides with the Russian politics.
Iran is considered to be the partner of Russia in the Islamic world. He does not let The West to carry any sanctions against Iran.
Most of critics of Dugin even in Russia consider that they face dangerous perspectives. The strategy presented by him is the formula of catastrophe. Russia has to do everything to avoid isolation. Eurasian way is the way leading to the confrontation. By the activation of “ura patriotism” the country will gain nothing. If it happens Russia will be ruined.
