MAC address
Media Access Control Address - A unique identifier that specifies a device in a network.
MTU
Maximum Transmission Unit - The largest size packet specified in octets that can be sent in a packet or
frame based network such as the Internet.
Multihoming
Term for the internet interface which uses multiple public IP addresses.

NAT
Network address translation - A method that remaps IP addresses by changing network address inform-
ation.
Non-transparent proxy
A non-transparent is used so that the web browser and other client applications know that a proxy is
being used, and so can act accordingly.
